A. Yes. Lap Of Luxury Pet & Home Care provides full-time pet-sitting, house-sitting and overnight services.

A. Yes. The National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS) covers our general liability insurance. Basic liability coverage includes the following:
- Premises/Operations Liability
- Products/Complete Operations Liability
- Host Liquor Liability
- Incidental Malpractice Liability
- Incidental Contractual Liability
- Employees Covered as Insureds
The Pet Sitter Dishonesty Bond from PSI also protects our customers from losses resulting from the theft of their property by Lap Of Luxury employees.

Q. Do you provide other services beside pet-sitting? What other services do you provide?
Beside pet-sitting for many types of animals, Lap Of Luxury’s services include daily dog walks, overnight stays, enhanced services for dogs, cats, reptiles, horses, fish and small pets, stable cleaning services, trips to the doggy park or beach, complimentary command reinforcement, pet-training, transportation of your pets, errand runs, and home services, including house checks, and so much more!
Q. What is included in a free in-home consultation?
A. Your free in-home consultation is a chance for your pet sitter to meet with you and your pets in your home. Consultations last 45 – 60 minutes. During this time, your pet sitter will collect mandatory information in advance of services provided by Lap Of Luxury, so we can provide you the best care for your pet and your home. The visit also allows the pet sitter a chance to get to know your pet. Documents to be completed include, but are not limited to the following:
- Client Agreement
- Pet Information (one for each pet, tank)
- Vet Release
- Ready Key/Waiver
- Assignment Information
- Veterinary Release Form
- Pet Transportation Waiver
During a walk-through at the end of the consultation, your pet sitter will collect the details necessary to personalize service provided by Lap Of Luxury to your unique pet and home care needs.
Q. What should I have ready at the time of the consultation?
A. Please have the following ready by the time of your free in-home consultation to ensure the quickest and easiest scheduling of your first reservation with Lap Of Luxury:
- A copy of your house key
- Name, phone number and address for two (2) emergency contacts; e.g. one neighbor and one friend living in the area
- All medical information about your pets
- Veterinary information
- The amount of food and, if necessary, medication your pets need
- ID tags, numbers and company information for any ID tattoos or chips
- Pet-safe your home by having all fences, crates and pet gates in working order
Q. Will you walk my dog during the in-home consultation?
A. Dog walking is not included with the free the in-home consultation. The consultation is necessary to gather your dog walking instructions and other assignment details. However, our regular fee will apply if your dog needs to be walked by the pet sitter during your free consultation.
Q. Will the same pet-care provider come to my home each time?
A. Yes. Only the pet sitter who you meet during your initial consultation is granted access to your home. If your pet sitter has an emergency on the day your service is to be provided, you will be introduced to an on-call pet sitter who will fill-in during the emergency.
Q. Do you screen your pet sitters?
A. Yes. All Lap Of Luxury staff undergo rigorous background and criminal history checks. Training and a certification course in Pet First Aid must be completed by all staff before they can provide you service.
Q. My pet has special needs. Do you have services for us?
A. Yes. Lap Of Luxury offers services for all types of special needs pets. Our pet sitters are experienced in administering medication and caring for wheelchair-bound, hearing-impaired, sight-impaired and elderly pets. Whether your pet needs help up the stairs or hand-fed meals, Lap Of Luxury will do whatever it takes to provide your special needs pets with top-notch care.

Q. Do you come in inclement weather (rain/snow)?
A. Yes. Although snow might slow us down a bit, you can count on Lap Of Luxury to provide service in the rain, snow or sleet—any inclement weather—as long as driving is permitted. We limit the time your pets spend outdoors in extreme heat or cold for their safety. During a state of emergency, or in other circumstances when driving is not permitted, we may call your emergency contact to check on your pets until we can resume service as usual.
Q. Can you explain the Ready Key program? How do I enroll?
A. The Ready Key program is a way to keep your house key on file with Lap Of Luxury. None of your personal information, such as your address, telephone number or the names of your pets, ever will appear on the keys stored with Lap of Luxury. Call 732-982-PAWS (7297) to enroll.
Q. How long does your average visit last?
A. The average pet-sitting visit lasts 25 – 30 minutes. You can schedule more or less time as needed. Visit one of our Services pages for more information about our service options.
Q. Do you charge extra for holiday service?
A. Yes. Add a $5 fee per visit for all visits scheduled on the holiday.
Q. Do you charge gas for your commute?
A. Yes. This rate is divided into the following service areas:
- If you live within a 5 to 10 mile radius of 07746 please add $5 per visit.
- If you live within a 10 to 15 mile radius of 07746 please add $7 per visit.
- If you live within a 15 to 25 mile radius of 07746 please add $13 per visit.
- If you live within a 5 mile radius of 07746 there is no additional charge.
